Mudanças Para O Ano Novo? # Changes For The New Year?

2017... outro Ano Novo. O velho 2016 foi e o novo 2017 chegou, pronto ou não! Consegues acreditar?

A maioria de nós admitirá que temos traços de carácter ou hábitos que gostaríamos de mudar. Alguns de nós até tentam modificar o próprio comportamento. Mas mudar apenas o comportamento exterior é como rodar para trás o velocímetro de um carro. Reduzes os números de 200.000 para 20.000, mas ainda tens um carro com 200.000 quilómetros. No entanto, há esperança para a pessoa que sinceramente deseja mudar. O poder de mudar assim significa admitir que não podemos fazê-lo sozinhos. Lembra-te, a mudança duradoura vem de dentro. Precisamos da ajuda do Senhor.

A Bíblia diz que se alguém está em Cristo é uma nova criatura; o velho já passou e tudo se fez novo. Quando damos as nossas vidas a Jesus Cristo, Ele transforma-nos, muda-nos de dentro para fora. Em vez de apenas reverter o velocímetro e ser a mesma pessoa velha lá dentro, Ele dá-nos um transplante de coração espiritual.

Agora, isto, meus amigos, é uma mudança para melhor. E uma mudança que dura.

2017... another New Year. The old 2016 has gone and the new 2017 has come, ready or not! Can you believe it?

Most of us will admit we have character traits or habits we would like to change. Some of us even try to modify our behavior. But just changing outward behavior is like rolling back the odometer on a car. You reduce the numbers from 200,000 to 20,000, but you still have a car with 200,000 miles on it. However, there is hope for the person who sincerely desires to change. The power to change like that means admitting we can’t do it on our own. Remember, lasting change comes from within. We need the help of the Lord.

The Bible says if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone and new has come. When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, He transforms us, changes us from the inside out. Instead of just rolling back the odometer and being the same old person inside, He gives us a spiritual heart transplant.

Now, that, my friends, is a change for the better. And a change that lasts.
