A Trindade – Um Mistério Infinito # The Trinity – An Infinite Mystery
A Trindade é uma palavra muitas vezes mal entendida. É um termo teológico para descrever Deus como três pessoas em uma. A palavra real, Trindade, nunca é mencionada na Bíblia, mas o conceito é definitivamente encontrado no Antigo e no Novo Testamento.
No primeiro capítulo da Bíblia, Deus diz: "Façamos o homem à Nossa imagem." Quem é que pensas "Façamos" e "Nossa" é? Não há nenhuma indicação de Deus ser casado, por isso não é a Sua esposa. E os anjos não "criam", eles são uma criação de Deus. Há apenas uma resposta lógica. É Deus o Pai, Deus o Filho e Deus o Espírito Santo. Olha em Mateus 28:19-20, onde Jesus deu aos Seus discípulos a Grande Comissão ao declarar que deveriam ensinar e baptizar nos nomes da Divindade: "Portanto ide, fazei discípulos de todas as nações, baptizando-os em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo; ensinando-os a observar todas as coisas que Eu vos tenho mandado; e eis que Eu estou convosco todos os dias, até a consumação dos séculos."
Quando Jesus, o Filho, foi baptizado, a Palavra de Deus diz-nos que Deus, o Pai, falou do Céu e disse: "Este é meu Filho. Estou orgulhoso Dele." (Minha paráfrase.) Então, Deus (o Espírito Santo) desceu sobre Ele na forma de uma pomba. Todos os três estavam lá; Todos os três são um só Deus. É um mistério que as nossas mentes finitas têm dificuldade em compreender. Mas a Trindade, Deus como três em um, enche-nos de espanto diante da inexplicável grandeza de Deus.

The Trinity is an often misunderstood word. It is a theological term to describe God as three persons in one. The actual word, Trinity, is never mentioned in the Bible, but the concept is definitely found in the Old and the New Testaments.
In the very first chapter of the Bible, God says, "Let Us make man in Our image." Who do you think "Us" and "Our" is? There is no indication of God being married, so it’s not His wife. And Angels don’t "create", they are a creation of God. There is only one logical answer. It’s God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Look in Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission stating they were to teach and baptize in the names of the Godhead, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
When Jesus, the Son, was baptized, God’s Word tells us that God, the Father, spoke from Heaven and said, "This is my son. I’m proud of Him." (My paraphrase.) Then, God (the Holy Spirit) descended upon Him in the form of a dove. All three were there; all three are one God. It’s a mystery our finite human minds have a hard time grasping. But the Trinity, God as three in one, fills us with wonder at the unexplainable greatness of God.
