Já te sentiste como se Deus estivesse distante e afastado? Que Ele está ou indiferente ou não pode entender pelo o que estás a passar?
Muitos acreditam que o golpe mais duro na vida é perder um filho e é difícil argumentar o contrário. Já te morreu algum filho? A Deus já, o Seu único filho. Ele entende a dor de um pai quando uma criança morre. Já tiveste uma criança assassinada quando estava completamente inocente e boa? Deus já. Ele entende este tipo de ódio e rejeição.
Poderá haver um mal maior do que assassinar um homem inocente? Não, mas isto vai atingir a tua mente: tu és culpado desse mal e eu também. Com o nosso pecado, matámos o Filho de Deus. E, surpreendentemente, Deus na Sua graça está disposto a perdoar e dar-nos a salvação, se simplesmente confessarmos o nosso pecado e confiarmos em Cristo para transformar-nos de dentro para fora.
Deus entende o nosso sofrimento e Ele deu a maior coisa que Ele pôde para ajudar-nos através dele. Chama-se graça.

Do you ever feel like God is distant and remote? That He’s either unconcerned or can’t possibly understand what you’re going through?
Many believe that the toughest blow in life is to lose a child, and it’s hard to argue with that. Have you ever had a child die? God has, His only boy. He understands the pain of a parent when a child dies. Have you ever had a child murdered when they were completely innocent and good? God has. He understands that type of hatred and rejection.
Could there be a greater evil than to murder an innocent man? No, but this will blow your mind: you are guilty of that evil and so am I. With our sin, we murdered the Son of God. And, amazingly, God in His grace is willing to forgive and give us salvation, if we’ll simply confess our sin and trust Christ to change us from the inside out.
God understands our suffering and He’s given the greatest thing He could to help us through it. It’s called grace.

Temos uma luta contínua com o pecado. O pecado tem uma forma de multiplicar-se, revitalizar-se e lançar um novo e inesperado assalto às nossas áreas mais vulneráveis. A Bíblia pinta uma imagem muito gráfica de uma pessoa que fica aprisionada pelo seu próprio pecado. Ela diz: "Pelas cordas do seu pecado será detido." (Provérbios 5:22b) Agora, o que é que isto significa?
Já viste um pequeno insecto preso na teia de uma aranha? Quanto mais o insecto luta para se tornar livre, mais enredado na teia fica. É disto que este verso está a falar. A pessoa está presa pelo seu pecado e mesmo quando toma consciência e reconhece a necessidade de mudar, ele não pode escapar com a sua própria força. Ele fica mais enrolado.
Mas há esperança para a pessoa presa no seu pecado. Todos podemos ser livres da escravidão, admitindo o nosso pecado a Deus e dando-Lhe o controlo da nossa vida através de Jesus Cristo. Apenas Ele pode desenredar-nos da teia enredada do pecado que tecemos!

We have an ongoing struggle with sin. Sin has a way of multiplying and reviving itself, and launching a new and an unexpected assault on our most vulnerable areas. The Bible paints a very graphic picture of a person who becomes entrapped by his own sin. It says, "And he will be held with cords of his sin." (Proverbs 5:22b) Now what does that mean?
Have you ever seen a little bug caught in a spider’s web? The more that bug struggles to become free, the more entangled in the web it becomes. That’s what this verse is talking about. The person is trapped by his sin, and even when he comes to his senses and recognizes the need to change, he cannot escape by his own strength. He just gets more tangled.
But there’s hope for the person caught in his sin. We can all be free from bondage, by admitting our sin to God and giving Him control of our life through Jesus Christ. Only He can untangle us from the tangled web of sin that we weave!
