If I rise, let me rise on you Not on all of my successes, my esteem or my pursuits If I lose, let me lose my life Cause if I belong to Jesus, the flesh is crucified
For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
If I grow, let me grow in You Wilt the seeds of wanting more Rippin' pride out by the roots And if I'm still, let me hear You speak Not the tone of my transgressions, But the song of the Redeemed
For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
My great desire is to be with You But this is the place you chose for me This is the place you chose for me To lift my cross and give everything This is the time you gave to me This is the time you gave to me
For me to live is Christ, For me to live is Christ For me to live is Christ, to die is gain I'll never be the same, I'll never be the same For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
# Here’s a great example of forced perspective that makes this dog look gigantic.

When Jesus commands us to listen, our ears should tune in! Here, Jesus was addressing a crowd on the shore from a boat, speaking to a crowd that normally wouldn’t be seen in the synagogue. This begins a famous parable known as, "The Parable of the Sower". The Prime Sower is God, who dispenses "the word" (Mark 4:14) through the faithful (2 Corinthians 9:10). Who are the sowers? All of us are; not simply our Christian pastors, authors and speakers.
In that day, sowing like this was a common method of farming. What would happen, is a sower would take seed and go "out to sow", preparing various types of soil to receive the seed. What is so profound in this parable is the assumption that seed will indeed be sown, no matter the condition of the ground. Only after we see how it prospers can we, as the sowers, determine what kind of soil we have sowed upon. No matter the soil, our delight is to sow the word. For as Ecclesiastes reads:
"In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both will be good." (Ecclesiastes 11:6)
In short, our duty is not to leave the sharing of the Gospel, the word, to the "professionals", or to neglect sowing on soil we don’t deem profitable. No! Our duty is to scatter on every heart and mind that we come into contact with, never withholding our hand. The joy of sowing, of participating in God’s work, is given to each of us.
We used to hide from the light We made friends with the night We were headed the wrong way on a one way track Going nowhere fast
We got used to the dark We thought this is who we are And we figured that we were just too far gone But we were wrong
‘Cause love came running like a river And we got washed in the water Then He said you're forgiven Your sins are gone
That was then, this is now You’re bought by the blood, saved by the Son the saints all sing about That was lost, this is found And it’s time to say goodbye to the old you now
So go ahead, put the past in the past Box it up like an old photograph You don’t have to go back ‘Cause that was then and this is now
We've been remade by grace We've all got new names And nothing we do could ever change What He did that day
When love came running like a river And we got washed in the water Then He said you’re forgiven And you belong
That was then, this is now You’re bought by the blood, saved by the Son the saints all sing about That was lost, this is found And it’s time to say goodbye to the old you now
So go ahead, put the past in the past Box it up like an old photograph You don’t have to go back ‘Cause that was then
If we turn and confess every unrighteousness He is faithful and just to forgive Oh, so turn and confess every wrong and regret And see what it means to live
That was then, this is now You’re bought by the blood, saved by the Son the saints all sing about That was lost, this is found And it’s time to say goodbye to the old you now
So go ahead, put the past in the past Box it up like an old photograph You don’t have to go back ‘Cause that was then and this is now
So go ahead, put the past in the past Box it up like an old photograph You don’t have to go back ‘Cause that was then and this is now
