Querido Leitor Cristão,

Quando Deus olha para ti, Ele não vê uma longa lista dos teus fracassos. Ele não vê um miserável humano a revolver de vergonha, nem um perdedor fraco de espírito de um filho. Quando Deus olha para ti, Ele vê Jesus. Estás coberto com o sangue de Jesus (Hebreus 9:22, 10:19,22), o que significa que todo o teu pecado, passado, presente e futuro, foi pago por Jesus na Cruz. E mais do que isso, a vitória sobre o eu, Satanás e o pecado foi vencido quando Deus O ressuscitou do sepulcro no terceiro dia, porque a morte não poderia segurá-Lo (Actos 2:24).

És um filho de um Pai orgulhoso (1 João 3:2; Mateus 3:17), e não de um "Desapontado-Pai-nos-Céus". Estás em Cristo, e não sob a condenação (Romanos 8:1). Portanto, não continues a voltar ao teu pecado por vergonha. Não corras do Pai e escondes Dele, porque crês que Ele vai rejeitar-te.

Lembra-te, "a bondade de Deus destina-se a levar-te ao arrependimento". Os Seus braços estão abertos para ti, não por causa de quem tu és, mas por causa de quem tu és em Jesus. Permanece em Jesus e segue a Sua graça ao arrependimento (João 15). Sabe que és aceite por um Pai perfeito em amor e compreensão.

Querido Leitor Cristão, não caias na mentira de que Deus não é nada mais do que um Pai decepcionado, à espera que tu te limpes e mudes. Jesus trocou a tua desgraça pela Sua perfeição (2 Coríntios 5:21), e é por isso que tu és tão amado.

Dear Christian Reader,

When God looks at you he does not see a long list of your failures. He does not see a miserable human wallowing in shame, nor a weak-minded loser of a child. When God looks at you he sees Jesus. You are covered in the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 9:22, 10:19,22), which means that all of your sin, past, present and future, was paid for by Jesus on the Cross. And more than that, victory over self, Satan and sin was won when God raised him from the tomb on the third day, because death could not hold him (Acts 2:24).

You are a child of a proud Father (1 John 3:2; Matthew 3:17), not of the "Disappointed-Dad-in-the-Sky". You are in Christ and not under condemnation (Romans 8:1). Therefore, do not continually return to your sin out of shame. Don’t run from the Father and hide from him because you believe he will reject you.

Remember, "God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance". His arms are open to you, not because of who you are, but because of who you are in Jesus. Abide in Jesus and follow his grace to repentance (John 15). Know that you are accepted by a Father perfect in love and understanding.

Dear Christian Reader, do not fall for the lie that God is nothing more than a disappointed father, waiting for you to clean yourself up and get your act together. Jesus exchanged your disgrace for His perfection (2 Corinthians 5:21), and that is why you are so loved.
