Quando O Natal Não É Alegre # When Christmas Isn't Merry

Para muitas pessoas o Natal pode ser um tempo solitário e deprimente. A reunião familiar tipo "Postal de Natal da Hallmark" a que todos somos bombardeados durante esta época pode ser real para alguns. Para outros, no entanto, o distanciamento familiar, a luta e o luto poderão tornar a época menos alegre.

À medida que envelheço, percebo que há muitas vezes uma assustadora melancolia que envolve o Natal. Mas também podes descobrir tesouros nas "trevas". Isaías 45:3 diz: "Dar-te-ei os tesouros das trevas, e as riquezas encobertas, para que saibas que Eu Sou o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, QUE TE CHAMO PELO TEU NOME."

As "riquezas" que podes encontrar na escuridão da melancolia do feriado é a Sua presença, mais real do que alguma vez experimentado nos bons tempos. Inclina-te, Ele está lá, chamando-te pelo nome. Há um propósito na tua dor. Ele a usará para abençoar outros e glorificar a Si mesmo. Comemora o Seu nascimento este ano indo ao encontro Dele como nunca antes. Alegra-te pelos outros e segue o teu caminho. Ele está à espera naquele lugar escuro para celebrar o aniversário Dele contigo.

Christmas can be a lonely, depressing time for many. The "Hallmark Card Christmas" family gathering we are all bombarded with during this season may be true for some. For others though, family estrangement, strife and bereavement make the holidays anything but merry.

As I’ve grown older, I have come to realize that there's many times a melancholy funk that surrounds Christmas. But you can also discover treasure in the "darkness". Isaiah 45:3 says, "I will give you the treasures of darkness, hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, WHO CALLS YOU BY NAME, am the God of Israel."

The "riches" you can find in the darkness of holiday melancholy is His presence, more real than ever experienced in the good times. Lean in, He is there, calling you by name. There is purpose in your pain. He will use it to bless others and glorify Himself. Celebrate His birth this year by encountering Him as never before. Rejoice for others and follow your path. He is waiting in that dark place to celebrate His birthday with you.
