Servindo Um Ao Outro # Serving One Another

Quando damos as nossas vidas a Cristo, escolhemos dar o controlo das nossas vidas a Deus. Em essência, tornamo-nos num servo voluntário de Deus. À medida que caminhamos com Deus e aprendemos mais sobre o que significa entregar as nossas vidas a Ele, começamos a perceber que Ele quer que nos tornemos servos voluntários para os outros também. Sejamos honestos. Servir os outros não é fácil; Então por onde é que começamos?

1. Família. Servir um ao outro começa em casa. Se és casado, como é que podes servir melhor o teu cônjuge e família?

2. Igreja. Envolver-te na tua igreja local é o próximo passo. Como é que estás a servir o corpo de Cristo? Procura maneiras de usar os teus dons e talentos para servir dentro da igreja.

3. Comunidade. Somos também chamados a servir os outros. Isto significa colegas de trabalho e os nossos vizinhos. É aparecer para servir nas várias escolas ou ministérios. Servir não está limitado a parentes e outros crentes.

Jesus foi radicalmente contra-cultural ao exemplificar e ensinar um estilo de vida de serviço. Isto vai contra tudo o que a cultura diz que torna alguém "grande". É colocar os outros antes de nós mesmos. É seguir os passos de Cristo, que incorporaram a grandeza ao Se humilhar até a morte na cruz. Escolher seguir a Cristo significa entregar voluntariamente as nossas vidas a Ele e escolher viver uma vida radicalmente contra-cultural. Embora possa ir contra a definição mundial de "grande", servir os outros torna o mundo um lugar melhor!

When we give our lives to Christ, we choose to give control of our lives to God. In essence, we become a voluntary servant to God. As we walk with God and learn more about what it means to surrender our lives to Him, we begin to realize that He wants us to become voluntary servants to others as well. Let’s be honest. Serving others isn’t easy; so where do we start?

1. Family. Serving one another starts at home. If married, how can you better serve your spouse and family?

2. Church. Getting involved in your local church is the next step. How are you serving the body of Christ? Look for ways to use your gifts and abilities to serve within the church.

3. Community. We are also called to serve others. This means colleagues at work and our neighbors. It’s showing up to serve in various schools or ministries. Serving isn’t limited to relatives and other believers.

Jesus was radically counter-cultural by exemplifying and teaching a lifestyle of servanthood. It goes against everything that culture says makes someone "great". It’s putting others before ourselves. It’s following in Christ’s footsteps, who embodied greatness by humbling Himself to death on the cross. Choosing to follow Christ means voluntarily surrendering our lives to Him and choosing to live a radically counter cultural life. While it might go against the world’s definition of "great", serving others makes the world a better place!

Verdadeira Grandeza # True Greatness

Embora Jesus seja o Criador do Universo e o Filho de Deus, durante todo o Seu ministério, Jesus referiu-Se a Si mesmo como o Filho do Homem. Porquê? Porque Ele não veio para SER servido, mas para SERVIR. Jesus veio para dar a vida pela humanidade na cruz. Ele veio tomar sobre Si o juízo que todos nós merecemos pelos nossos pecados. Ele experimentou a nossa vergonha e os nossos arrependimentos para nos colocar bem diante de Deus. Jesus veio voluntariamente entregar a Sua vida por ti e por mim.

Agora Deus é muito claro que o salário do pecado é a morte. Como Deus é justo, a penalidade pelo pecado deve ser paga. No Antigo Testamento, Deus permitiu que o sacrifício de animais pagasse a penalidade pelos pecados do povo. Este sistema continuou até que Jesus chegou para Se tornar o sacrifício último e final para cobrir o pecado de toda a humanidade.

Jesus sustentou a perfeita justiça de Deus (morte), enquanto, ao mesmo tempo, exemplificando a perfeita misericórdia de Deus em oferecer-nos um completo perdão e relacionamento com Deus. Por esta razão, Cristo está sentado à direita do Pai. Jesus demonstra a verdadeira grandeza através do amor sacrificial. A nossa responsabilidade em tudo isto é simplesmente receber o dom do perdão. Ao fazer isto, somos justificados diante de Deus através somente da fé confiante em Cristo para a salvação e a vida eterna. Já tomaste a maior decisão que alguma vez irás tomar? Se não, toma-a hoje em agradecimento pelo amor abnegado de Cristo derramado por ti.

Even though Jesus is the Creator of the Universe and the Son of God, throughout His ministry, Jesus referred to Himself as the Son of Man. Why? Because He didn’t come TO BE served but to SERVE. Jesus came to give His life for mankind on the cross. He came to take the judgement that we all deserve for our sins upon Himself. He experienced our shame and our regrets in order to make us right with God. Jesus came to voluntarily surrender His life for you and for me.

Now God is very clear that the wages of sin is death. Since God is just, the penalty for sin must be paid. In the Old Testament, God allowed animal sacrifice to pay the penalty for the people’s sins. This system continued until Jesus arrived to become the ultimate and final sacrifice to cover sin for all mankind.

Jesus upheld God’s perfect justice (death), while at the same time exemplifying God’s perfect mercy in offering us complete forgiveness and relationship with God. For this reason, Christ sits at the right hand of the Father. Jesus demonstrates true greatness thru sacrificial love. Our responsibility in all this is simply to receive the gift of forgiveness. In doing so, we are made right with God thru trusting faith in Christ alone for salvation and eternal life. Have you made the biggest decision you will ever make? If not, do so today in gratitude for Christ’s selfless love poured out for you.

O Que Significa "Amar Deus"? # What Does "Loving God" Mean?

Estamos muito facilmente envolvidos nas NOSSAS vidas, em NÓS próprios e nos NOSSOS planos, contudo Deus ama-nos de qualquer maneira. Ele ama-nos, não importa onde estamos ou o que fizemos. Deus ama-nos quando não temos interesse Nele, quando estamos a fugir d'Ele e até mesmo quando estamos a afogar-nos nos nossos pecados. Ele ama-nos tanto que enviou o Seu Filho para pagar a penalidade dos NOSSOS pecados. Que amor incrível!

Cristo foi o sacrifício substitutivo pelos nossos pecados. No discurso não religioso, isto significa que Jesus é a ponte. Jesus preenche a lacuna entre o homem pecador e um Deus Santo. Para fazer isto, custou a Jesus a Sua vida na cruz quando Ele assumiu todo o nosso pecado e vergonha. Esta é a magnitude do amor de Deus por ti e por mim. E quando começamos a entender este incrível amor, vamos querer amar Deus de volta.

Então, como é que amamos Deus? Começa primeiro por encontrarmos o amor de Deus por nós. Conheces o maravilhoso, sacrificial e irresistível amor de Deus por ti? Não esperes mais, porque nada é mais importante do que amar Deus. É o coração do Cristianismo. 1 João 4:19 diz: "Nós amamos, porque Ele nos amou primeiro." Então, queremos passar tempo com Deus em adoração, oração e estudo da Bíblia. Então, queremos obedecer aos mandamentos de Deus para mostrar que confiamos n'Ele. Espero que te decidas amar Deus hoje. E quando fizeres isso, vais querer amar os outros.

We are far too easily wrapped up in OUR-selves, OUR-lives, and OUR plans, yet God loves us anyway. He loves us no matter where we are or what we’ve done. God loves us when we have no interest in Him, when we’re running from Him, and even when we’re drowning in our sins. He loves us so much that He sent His son to pay the penalty for OUR sins. What an amazing love!

Christ was the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins. In non-church speak that means that Jesus is the bridge. Jesus bridges the gap between sinful man and a Holy God. To do this cost Jesus His life on the cross as He took on all our sin and shame. This is the magnitude of God’s love for you and for me. And when we begin to understand this incredible love, we will want to love God back.

So how do we love God? It starts by first encountering God’s love for us. Do you know God’s amazing, sacrificial and overwhelming love for you? Don’t wait any longer, because nothing is more important than loving God. It’s the heart of Christianity. 1 John 4:19 says, "We love, because He first loved us." Then we want to spend time with God in worship and prayer and Bible study. Then we want to obey God’s commands to show Him we trust Him. I hope that you will decide to love God today. And when you do that, you will want to love others.

Qual é a coisa que ninguém te pode roubar?

Cristianismo não é uma mentalidade do "faz isto e não faças aquilo"; é "quando vens a conhecer Jesus todos os pensamentos mudam".

Christianity isn't a "do this and don't do that" mentality; it is a "when you come to know Jesus all thoughts change".

Amor é... quando os corações ficam entrelaçados.

No evangelho, está incluído tudo o que o coração do homem pode desejar.

Amar Deus Significa Amar os Outros # Loving God Means Loving Others

Amar Deus significa amar os outros. As duas ideias são inseparáveis. Em Lucas 10, um advogado perguntou a Jesus como obter a vida eterna. No típico estilo de Jesus, Ele respondeu com uma pergunta: "O que é que está escrito na Lei?" Referenciando Deuteronómio 6:5 e Levítico 19:18, o homem respondeu: "Amar a Deus e amar os outros."

Jesus sabia que este homem não tinha qualquer esperança em ter a vida eterna através da obediência à lei porque o padrão de Deus é a perfeição. Apenas uma pessoa já viveu uma vida perfeita e este foi Jesus. O advogado continuou: "Está bem, mas quem é exactamente o meu vizinho?" Esta foi uma questão importante porque, para o Judeu do primeiro século, o seu "vizinho" referia-se a outros Judeus. Todos os outros, Romanos, Samaritanos e Árabes, podiam ser tratados de maneira diferente.

Foi quando Jesus deu mais um passo ao aplicar este versículo a todos. Não foi sobre identificar as pessoas que DEVEMOS amar versus aqueles que podemos ignorar. Foi sobre amar todas as pessoas. Ponto final. Ele ensina-nos a COMEÇAR a amar os nossos irmãos na igreja, enquanto devemos amar sempre aqueles que estão fora da igreja também.

Agora, encaremos a questão. Há algumas pessoas, mesmo na Igreja, que são difíceis de amar. Mas o tipo de amor de que Jesus está a falar aqui não é uma emoção; é uma decisão da vontade de amar quer gostemos dessa pessoa ou não. Pede a Deus para ajudar-te a amar as pessoas à tua volta, especialmente aquelas difíceis de amar. Pede a Ele para ajudar-te a amá-las da mesma maneira que Deus ama os difíceis como tu e eu.

Loving God means loving others. The two ideas are inseparable. In Luke chapter 10, a lawyer asked Jesus the way to earn eternal life. In typical Jesus fashion, He responded with a question: "What is written in the Law?" Referencing Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18, the man replied: "Love God and love others."

Jesus knew this man had no hope of earning eternal life by obeying the law because God’s standard is perfection. Only one person ever lived a perfect life and that is Jesus. The lawyer continued: "Okay, but who exactly is my neighbor?" This was an important question because for the first century Jew, their "neighbor" referred to fellow Jews. Everyone else, Roman, Samaritan, and Arab, could be treated differently.

That’s when Jesus went one step further by applying this verse to everyone. It wasn’t about identifying the people we SHOULD love versus those whom we can ignore. It was about loving all people. Period. He teaches us to START with loving our fellow believers within the church, while always loving those outside the church as well.

Now, let’s face it. There are some people, even in the Church, that are hard to love. But the kind of love Jesus is talking about here isn’t an emotion; it’s a decision of the will to love whether you like that person or not. Ask God to help you love those around you, especially those difficult to love. Ask Him to help you love them in the same way that God loves the difficult ones like you and me.
