Servindo Um Ao Outro # Serving One Another

Quando damos as nossas vidas a Cristo, escolhemos dar o controlo das nossas vidas a Deus. Em essência, tornamo-nos num servo voluntário de Deus. À medida que caminhamos com Deus e aprendemos mais sobre o que significa entregar as nossas vidas a Ele, começamos a perceber que Ele quer que nos tornemos servos voluntários para os outros também. Sejamos honestos. Servir os outros não é fácil; Então por onde é que começamos?

1. Família. Servir um ao outro começa em casa. Se és casado, como é que podes servir melhor o teu cônjuge e família?

2. Igreja. Envolver-te na tua igreja local é o próximo passo. Como é que estás a servir o corpo de Cristo? Procura maneiras de usar os teus dons e talentos para servir dentro da igreja.

3. Comunidade. Somos também chamados a servir os outros. Isto significa colegas de trabalho e os nossos vizinhos. É aparecer para servir nas várias escolas ou ministérios. Servir não está limitado a parentes e outros crentes.

Jesus foi radicalmente contra-cultural ao exemplificar e ensinar um estilo de vida de serviço. Isto vai contra tudo o que a cultura diz que torna alguém "grande". É colocar os outros antes de nós mesmos. É seguir os passos de Cristo, que incorporaram a grandeza ao Se humilhar até a morte na cruz. Escolher seguir a Cristo significa entregar voluntariamente as nossas vidas a Ele e escolher viver uma vida radicalmente contra-cultural. Embora possa ir contra a definição mundial de "grande", servir os outros torna o mundo um lugar melhor!

When we give our lives to Christ, we choose to give control of our lives to God. In essence, we become a voluntary servant to God. As we walk with God and learn more about what it means to surrender our lives to Him, we begin to realize that He wants us to become voluntary servants to others as well. Let’s be honest. Serving others isn’t easy; so where do we start?

1. Family. Serving one another starts at home. If married, how can you better serve your spouse and family?

2. Church. Getting involved in your local church is the next step. How are you serving the body of Christ? Look for ways to use your gifts and abilities to serve within the church.

3. Community. We are also called to serve others. This means colleagues at work and our neighbors. It’s showing up to serve in various schools or ministries. Serving isn’t limited to relatives and other believers.

Jesus was radically counter-cultural by exemplifying and teaching a lifestyle of servanthood. It goes against everything that culture says makes someone "great". It’s putting others before ourselves. It’s following in Christ’s footsteps, who embodied greatness by humbling Himself to death on the cross. Choosing to follow Christ means voluntarily surrendering our lives to Him and choosing to live a radically counter cultural life. While it might go against the world’s definition of "great", serving others makes the world a better place!
