Um Quadro Em Ardósia Limpo # A Clean Slate

Às vezes, quando estou a estudar para um sermão ou apenas a ter um tempo de silêncio com o Senhor, pergunto-me, compreendo realmente o incrível dom que nos foi dado quando Jesus morreu pelos nossos pecados? Algum de nós compreende? Não é que tomamos intencionalmente este acto como certo, mas falamos sobre ele de tal forma rotineira que acho que não conseguimos absorver o alcance total deste dom.

Pensa sobre isto: é como se todos os nossos pecados estivessem enumerados num quadro de ardósia. E então Cristo veio com um pano, limpou o quadro limpo e apagou-os para sempre, como se eles nunca estivessem lá! Naquele quadro, há um recibo que diz: "PAGO NA TOTALIDADE". Isto é o que os pregos da cruz fizeram, pagaram a penalidade pelos nossos pecados na íntegra. Cristo fez tudo isto. Os nossos pecados foram pregados na cruz; foram tratados. Nada mais é necessário para o perdão além de aceitar este incrível dom.

Já o fizeste? Já reivindicaste a liberdade de saber que Cristo pagou toda a dívida dos teus pecados? Se não, por que não deixar Cristo te dar um quadro em ardósia limpo? Afinal, Ele já escreveu "pagos na íntegra". A nossa escolha é simplesmente aceitar o Seu dom pela fé. Por favor não vires as costas. Fá-lo hoje.

Sometimes when I’m studying for a sermon or even just having a quiet time with the Lord, I wonder, do I really comprehend the incredible gift we were given when Jesus died for our sins? Do any of us? Not that we intentionally take this act for granted, but we speak about it so routinely that I think we fail to absorb the full scope of this gift.

Think about this: It’s as though all of our sins were listed on a writing board. And then Christ came along with a cloth, wiped the board clean and erased them forever, as though they had never been there! On that board, there is a receipt that says, "PAID IN FULL". That’s what the nails of the cross did, paid the penalty for our sin in full. Christ has done it all. Our sins have been nailed to the cross; they’ve been taken care of. Nothing more is needed for forgiveness other than our accepting this amazing gift.

Have you done that? Have you claimed the liberating freedom of knowing that Christ has paid the full debt of your sins? If not, why not let Christ give you a clean slate? After all, He’s already stamped them "paid in full". Our choice is simply to accept His gift in faith. Please don’t put it off. Do it today.
