Olha para as estrelas. Tenta contá-las. Impossível, não é? Os cientistas acreditam que o universo é composto por 27 milhões de partes, CADA parte com pelo menos uma galáxia. O número de estrelas? Seriam mais de 300 sextiliões, 300 com 23 zeros. Consegues envolver o teu cérebro à volta da imensidão e da vastidão do universo? Provavelmente não. Do mesmo modo, entender a grandeza de Deus é igualmente desafiante. No entanto, para começar a compreender a imagem completa de Deus, a verdadeira imagem de Deus, devemos olhar para este Deus em três pessoas. O Deus que estava no princípio de tudo.
"No princípio, Deus." Estas três palavras apresentam-nos Deus. Nenhumas três palavras poderiam ser mais importantes do que estas. Deus que não tem início. Deus que sempre é, sempre foi e sempre será. Este conceito é compreensivelmente difícil. Afinal, o nosso mundo gira à volta de inícios e fins.
Génesis, o primeiro livro da Bíblia, é tudo sobre inícios, coisas a ser criadas, coisas a iniciar. O início de Israel, o povo Judeu, o novo início após o dilúvio e o início da humanidade. No entanto, antes de tudo isto, era Deus.
Então Deus criou. Deus é descrito "no princípio" como um Deus, três pessoas. Também, podemos ver as três pessoas. A terra era sem forma e vazia, caótica. Imagina um artista nos estágios iniciais de uma pintura. O artista vê a pintura final, mas para o olho não treinado é apenas uma bagunça. Lemos que o Espírito de Deus estava no meio deste "caos", o artista original. Como o vento, não podemos ver o Espírito Santo, mas podemos senti-Lo.

Look at the stars. Try to count them. Impossible, right? Scientists believe the universe is made up of 27 million parts, EACH part having at least one galaxy. The number of stars? That would be over 300 sextillions, 300 with 23 zeros. Can you wrap your brain around the vastness and immensity of the universe? Probably not. In the same way, understanding the greatness of God is equally challenging. Yet, to begin to grasp the full picture of God, the true picture of God, we must look at this one God in three persons. The God who was at the beginning of it all.
"In the beginning, God." These four words introduce us to God. No four words could be more important than these. God who has no beginning. God who always is, always was, and always will be. This concept is understandably difficult. After all, our world revolves around beginnings and endings.
Genesis, the first book of the Bible, is all about beginnings, things being created, things starting. The beginning of Israel, the Jewish people, the new beginning after the flood, and the beginning of mankind. Yet, before all of this, was God.
Then God created. God is described "in the beginning" as one God, three persons. We can see all three persons, too. The earth was formless and void, chaotic. Imagine an artist in the early stages of a painting. The artist sees the final painting, but to the untrained eye it’s just a mess. We read that the Spirit of God was in the midst of this "chaos", the original artist. Like the wind, we can’t see the Holy Spirit, but we can feel Him.
