Já Tenho A Tua Atenção? # Do I Have Your Attention Yet?

Sabias que fazes figura de tolo quando discutes com um burro?

A Bíblia fala de um homem chamado Balaão no Velho Testamento em Números 22. Ele ia na direcção errada. Queria agradar a si mesmo e ignorava Deus, então Deus finalmente falou a Balaão através do seu jumento. Consegues imaginar como deve ter sido? Balaão ficou furioso com o animal! Discutiu com ele e quase bateu no pobre animal até à morte até que percebeu que Deus estava a tentar falar com ele através do jumento, para ajudá-lo a entrar no caminho certo. (A sério, deve ter sido como quando tropeças e cais, saltas para cima rapidamente e olhas à volta, à espera que ninguém tenha visto!)

Às vezes Deus usa meios extraordinários para obter a nossa atenção quando estamos empenhados em ir no nosso próprio caminho auto-destrutivo. Pode ser através de um abalo financeira ou através de uma criança rebelde. Quando esses tempos chegarem, ficar enervado pode ser uma tolice, mas tomar tempo para ouvir pode ser a chave para buscar a orientação de Deus sobre o caminho certo a percorrer.

Está Deus a tentar chamar a tua atenção para evitar que te tornes um tolo? Toma tempo para ouvir e Ele vai mudar a tua direcção e levar-te onde precisas de ir.

Did you know that you make a fool of yourself when you argue with a donkey?

The Bible tells of a man named Balaam in the Old Testament in Numbers 22. He was headed in the wrong direction. He wanted to please himself and was ignoring God, so God finally spoke to Balaam through his donkey. Can you imagine what that must have been like? Balaam became furiously mad at the animal! He argued with it and almost beat the poor animal to death until he realized that God was trying to speak to him through the donkey, to help him get on the right path. (Seriously, that had to have been like when you stumble and fall, and you jump up quickly and look around, hoping that no one saw you!)

Sometimes, God will go to extraordinary means to get our attention when we are hell-bent in going our own self-destructive way. It could come through a financial jolt or through a rebellious child. When those times come, getting angry may be foolish, but taking time to listen may be the key to seeking God’s guidance about the right way to go.

Is God trying to get your attention to keep you from making a fool of yourself? Take time to listen, and He’ll change your course and get you where you need to go.
