Obsessão Por Deus Precisa-se # Godly Obsession Needed

Toma um minuto e pensa sobre estas perguntas:
- Onde está o teu telemóvel?
- Quantas vezes olhaste para ele hoje?
- Quanto tempo gastaste nele?

Agora, pensa nisto:
- Onde está a tua Bíblia?
- Quantas vezes é que a leste hoje?
- Quanto tempo gastaste a lê-la?

No nosso mundo de hoje, a vida está cheia de distracções, como os nossos telemóveis. Vou tão longe e digo que a tecnologia é uma obsessão. O que aconteceria se os Cristãos de hoje fossem tão obcecados com a Bíblia e a sua relação com o Senhor? Acho que muitas pessoas que não são Cristãs lêem mais a Bíblia que muitos Cristãos. Como é que podemos ser discípulos educados e eficazes sem conhecer a Bíblia? A Bíblia é a nossa própria armadura pessoal e arsenal em armas de verdade, fé, esperança e amor. Não podemos colocar o dom de Deus para nós a bom uso sem saber o que diz.

O mundo está obcecado com a tecnologia e outras distracções. Vou desafiar-te hoje a tornares-te focado. Torna-te tão obcecado com a Bíblia e com Deus. Não seria incrível se os Cristãos fossem tão familiarizados com a Bíblia como o mundo está com os seus telemóveis? Que tipo de ousadia no ministério produziria?

Take a minute and think about these questions:
- Where is your cell phone?
- How many times have you looked at it today?
- How much time did you spend on it?

Now, think about this:
- Where is your Bible?
- How many times have you read it today?
- How much time did you spend reading it?

In our world today, life is full of distractions, like our phones. I would go so far to say that technology is an obsession. What would happen if Christians today were just as obsessed with the Bible and their relationship with the Lord? I find that many people who are not Christians are more well-read in the Bible than a lot of Christians. How are we supposed to be effective and educated disciples without knowing the Bible? The Bible is our own personal armor and arsenal in weapons of truth, faith, hope, and love. We cannot put God’s gift to us to good use without knowing what it says.

The world is obsessed with technology and other distractions. I am going to challenge you today to become focused. Become just as obsessed with the Bible and with God. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Christians were as familiar with the Bible as the world is with their phones? What kind of boldness in ministering would that produce?
