No Estado de Maharashtra (Índia), quase 60 anos atrás na minha infância, eu adorava ler e ouvir sobre a história Bíblica do "Bom Pastor". Costumava imaginar que chovia, trovejava, e o pastor descobriu que ele só tinha 99 das suas 100 ovelhas. De seguida na tempestade ele talvez tenha saído na escuridão da noite procurar a sua ovelha. A parte mais feliz para mim era imaginar a cara de alegria do pastor depois que descobriu a ovelha. Este é o verdadeiro e incondicional amor do Senhor!
Recentemente, o meu Pastor Rick na América escreveu-me sobre um dos seus amigos, que está perto da morte. Ele não conhece Cristo. O Pastor Rick fez as malas e viajou 3.000 quilómetros para ver o seu amigo moribundo e partilhar o amor de Cristo com ele. Quando comecei a ler o seu e-mail pensei que o meu pastor era louco; então percebi que na verdade ele é louco na perspectiva correcta. O seu amor pelos perdidos, por vezes, fá-lo ir para fora do caminho para poder chegar a eles.
O nosso Senhor é louco, porque Ele tem um grande amor pelos perdidos! Esta é a razão pela qual Ele está ocupado no negócio da restauração, e Ele chamou a si e a mim como Seus "Co-trabalhadores", dando-nos o ministério da restauração e da reconciliação!
"Eu sou o Bom Pastor. O Bom Pastor dá a sua vida pelas ovelhas." (João 10:11)

In Maharashtra State (India), nearly 60 years back in my childhood, I used to love to read and hear about the Bible story of the "Good Shepherd". I used to imagine it must have been raining, thundering, and the shepherd found that he only had 99 of his 100 sheep. Then in the storm he might have left in the thickness of the dark to look for his sheep. The happiest part for me was imagining the rejoicing face of the shepherd after he found the sheep. This is the true and unconditional love of the Lord!
Recently my Pastor Rick back in America wrote me about one of his friends, who is near death. He does not know Christ. Pastor Rick packed his bags and traveled 3000 kilometers to see his dying friend and share the love of Christ with him. When I first read his email I thought my pastor must be crazy; then I realized that indeed he is crazy in the right perspective. His love for the lost makes him go out of the way sometimes to reach out to them.
Our Lord is crazy because He has great love for the lost! That is the reason He is busy in the business of Restoration, and He has called you and I as His "Co-laborers" by giving us the ministry of restoration and reconciliation!
"I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11 ESV)
