Porque é que achas que tantas pessoas não querem ir à igreja? Será que é porque querem dormir a manhã de Sábado? Ou talvez foram forçadas a ir à igreja sempre que as portas estavam abertas quando crianças e revoltaram-se? Talvez tenham medo de que se forem à igreja, o sermão poderá fazê-las sentir-se desconfortáveis ou até mesmo culpadas. Tudo isto são motivos potenciais, mas uma das principais críticas à Igreja Cristã hoje continua a ser toda a hipocrisia e, sem dúvida, há muita. Curiosamente, a maioria das pessoas de fora da igreja não têm consciência do quanto Jesus também detesta a hipocrisia. No Seu mais famoso sermão, Ele criticou o exibicionismo do dar e orar quando apenas usado para impressionar os outros, em vez de agradar a Deus e ajudar os nossos semelhantes.
Ele diz que a melhor maneira de dar aos outros, é fazê-lo anonimamente. A melhor maneira de orar é buscar um lugar para estar sozinho com Deus e, em particular, derramar o teu coração a Ele.
Não é que Jesus seja contra o fazer coisas boas publicamente; é o motivo que importa para Deus. Uma coisa é certa... os hipócritas religiosos exibicionistas não impressionam a Deus. POR FAVOR, não percas Jesus Cristo por causa da hipocrisia na igreja! Sim, há hipocrisia lá e estará lá até que Jesus venha novamente, porque todos somos humanos e temos uma natureza pecaminosa. Retira os teus olhos das pessoas na igreja e dá uma nova olhadela em Jesus na Palavra de Deus. Quanto mais vires, mais irás gostar, porque Ele despreza a hipocrisia ainda mais do que tu.

Why do you think so many people don’t want to go to church? Is it because they want to sleep late on Sabbath morning? Or maybe they were forced to go to church every time the doors were open as children and are rebelling? Perhaps they are afraid if they go to church, the sermon might make them feel uncomfortable or maybe even guilty. All of those are potential reasons, but one of the main criticisms of the Christian Church today continues to be all the hypocrisy and, no doubt, there’s a ton of it. Interestingly enough, most people outside the church don’t realize how much Jesus hates hypocrisy, as well. In His most famous sermon, He blasted showy giving and praying that was designed to impress others, rather than to please God and help our fellow man.
He says the best way to give to others, is to do it anonymously. The best way to pray is to seek out a place to be alone with God and privately pour out your heart to Him.
It’s not that Jesus is down on doing good things publicly; it’s the motive that matters to God. One thing’s for sure... showy religious hypocrites don’t impress God at all. PLEASE don’t miss out on Jesus Christ because of the hypocrisy in the church! Yes, hypocrisy is there and it will be there until Jesus comes again, because we’re all human and have a sinful nature. Take your eyes off of the people in the church and take a fresh look at Jesus in God’s Word. The more you see, the more you’ll like, because He despises hypocrisy even more than you do.
