As Duas Visões Da Dor # The Two Views Of Pain

Todos provavelmente já vimos a ilusão acima da Mulher Idosa – Mulher Jovem. Dependendo no que focamos, vemos duas coisas diferentes. Ó focamos na Mulher Idosa e a vemos, ou focamos na Mulher Jovem e a vemos. Isto também pode ser verdade nas nossas vidas quando olhamos para o mal e a dor à nossa volta.

Os discípulos decidiram concentrar-se na dor e pecado em vez de verem a imagem de Deus a trabalhar através disso. Podemos fazer a mesma coisa. Porque é que Deus permitiu que isto acontecesse na minha vida? Porque é que existe o mal no mundo? Será que um Deus amoroso permitiria que tantas crianças morressem de fome? Todos temos tido um pensamento algo semelhante a estas perguntas. Na sabedoria de Deus, Ele decidiu não divulgar muito de onde vem o mal, nem a sua origem (Deuteronómio 29:29).

Este mistério pode consumir as pessoas no âmago do seu ser e eles nunca perdoam Deus, por um evento que sentem que Ele é o culpado (eles concentram-se num lado da imagem e esquecem-se de ver a linda Mulher Jovem). Mas, sabemos que todas as coisas cooperam para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus (Romanos 8:28). Em vez de focar na "doença", devemos concentrar-nos na cura que é Jesus. Jesus disse aos Seus discípulos que eles estavam a procurar a coisa errada. Parem de procurar algo para culpar e comecem a olhar para Deus para louvar. Eles foram cegados pelo problema da dor, em vez de ver a glória de Deus a ser exibida. Eles poderiam ter facilmente perdido os milagres de Deus.

Pense nisso por um minuto. Tem estado a concentrar-se tanto no problema da dor na sua vida ou de pessoas à sua volta que tem perdido a glória de Deus que está a ser exibida? Perceber que Deus pode trazer o bem nos nossos momentos difíceis é também o que nos permite, como Cristãos passar por esses momentos. José é o exemplo perfeito disto quando é vendido pelos seus irmãos, torna-se escravo, é colocado na prisão, e, eventualmente, quando se torna no braço direito do rei (Génesis 50:20). Jesus tomou o maior pecado de todos, a morte de um homem inocente, e transformou-o na maior obra da glória de Deus a ser exibida.

We have all probably seen the illusion above of the Old Woman – Young Girl. Depending on what you focus on, you see two different things. You either focus on the Old Woman and see her, or you focus on seeing the Young Girl and you see her. This can also be true in our lives as we look at the evil and hurting around us.

The disciples decided to focus on the hurt and sin instead of seeing the picture of God working through it. We can do the same thing. Why did God allow this to happen in my life? Why is there evil in the world? Would a loving God allow so many starving children to die? We have all thought something similar to one of these questions. In God’s wisdom, He has decided to not divulge too much of where evil comes from or it’s origin (Deuteronomy 29:29).

This mystery can consume people to the core of their being and they never forgive God for an event they feel He is to blame for (they focus on the one part of the picture and forget to see it for the beautiful young girl). But, we do know that all things work together for the good of those that love God (Romans 8:28). Instead of focusing on the "disease", we should be focusing on the cure that is Jesus. Jesus told His disciples that they were looking for the wrong thing. Stop looking for something to blame and start looking for God to praise. They were blinded by the problem of pain, instead of seeing God’s glory displayed. They could have easily missed out on the works of God.

Think about that for a minute. Have you been focusing so much on the problem of pain in your life or of those around you and missed the glory of God being displayed? Realizing that God can bring good out of our hard times is also what allows us as a Christian to make it through those times. Joseph is the perfect example of this as he is sold by his brothers, becomes a slave, is put in jail, and eventually the right hand man of the king (Genesis 50:20). Jesus took the greatest sin of all, death of an innocent man, and turned it into the greatest work of God’s glory to be displayed.
