Seja Um Recurso # Be A Resource

Paulo estava a treinar Timóteo, e ao fazê-lo, ensinava-o a ensinar os outros. Timóteo foi chamado a "transmitir a homens fiéis que sejam capazes de ensinar outros", ou investir naqueles que irão passar de mero consumidor a evangelista.

Na igreja de hoje podemos só pensar nos pregadores ou professores da escola sabatina na igreja como os chamados para ensinar as pessoas. Concentra-mo-nos na suposta "maior vocação" de líderes excluído a "vocação celestial" (Hebreus 3:1) de todo o crente. Sim, o manto de formação e de ensino foi aqui colocada sobre um líder, Timóteo, mas existe também um chamado sobre os "homens fiéis" para serem treinados e ensinados.

Existe então um chamado unificado, aplicável em ambos os lados da liderança; um chamado sobre o líder para treinar, e um chamado sobre o seguidor para dar um passo em frente, fazer as contas, e pagar. É hora de vivermos como um recurso para os outros, em vez de consumirmos constantemente investimentos derramados na nossa vida? Consideremos, então,

"Porque a terra que embebe a chuva, que muitas vezes cai sobre ela, e produz erva proveitosa para aqueles por quem é lavrada, recebe a bênção de Deus; Mas a que produz espinhos e abrolhos, é reprovada, e perto está da maldição; o seu fim é ser queimada." (Hebreus 6:7-8).

É culpado de viver como terra árida que avidamente engole a chuva que dá vida, mas nunca produz uma cultura útil para os outros? Transporta continuamente os "espinhos e abrolhos" produzidos pela escravatura do seu pecado carnal? Comece a usar os seus dons e talentos dados por Deus para ser um recurso em levantar homens e mulheres fiéis.

Paul was training Timothy, and in doing so, teaching him to teach others. Timothy was called to "entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others", or to invest in those who would move from mere consumption to a deliverer of the Gospel.

In the church today we might only think of the preachers or sabbath school teachers in the church as the ones who are called to teach people. We focus on the supposed "higher calling" of leaders to the exclusion of the "heavenly calling" (Hebrews 3:1) of every believer. Yes, the mantle of training and teaching was here laid upon a leader, Timothy, but there also exists a calling upon the "faithful men" to be trained, and be taught.

There exists then a unified calling, applicable on both sides of leadership; a calling upon the leader to train, and a calling upon the follower to come forth, count the cost, and pay it. Is it time for you to live as a resource for others instead of constantly consuming investments poured into your life? Consider then,

the "land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned" (Hebrews 6:7-8).

Are you guilty of living as parched ground that greedily swallows the life giving rain, but never yields a useful crop for others? Do you continually bear the "thorns and thistles" produced by bondage to your sinful flesh? Start using your God given gifts and talents to be a resource in raising up faithful men and women.
