In the large dining room of the old aunts
The clock tick tacked the time slower.
Oh the horror of happiness that we never knew
Because we knew without knowing,
The horror of what it was because of what is here.
Tea and toast in the province of another time
In how many cities have you been cry and memory!
Eternally childlike,
Eternally abandoned,
Since the tea and toast have lacked in my heart.
Warm, my heart!
Heat the past,
That the present is only a street where who passes has forgotten me…
