Dale Irby, um professor de Dallas, Texas escolheu a combinação de um colete e camisa, a fim de parecer apresentável para a sua primeira fotografia no anuário escolar em 1973 e acidentalmente, repetiu a roupa no ano seguinte.A esposa de Irby, Cathy desafiou-o a repetir a roupa no terceiro ano. Irby continuou a brincadeira por mais cinco anos, e depois pensou: "porquê parar?"
Infelizmente, Irby aposentou-se este ano depois de 40 anos de ensino. Se ele pensa em aposentar a piada não se sabe.

Dale Irby, a teacher from Dallas, Texas picked the vest and shirt combination in order to look presentable for his first yearbook photo in 1973 and accidentally, repeated the outfit the following year.
Irby’s wife, Cathy dared him to repeat the outfit for a third year. Irby continued the joke for a further five years, after which he thought “why stop?”
Sadly, Irby retired this year after 40 years of teaching. Whether he plans to retire the running joke is unknown.
