Onde Está A Prova? # Where's The Proof?

Estou impressionado com o que queremos e não queremos acreditar. Por exemplo:

» Sabemos que a luz viaja a 300 mil quilómetros por segundo, mesmo que nunca a tenhamos pessoalmente medido.
» Um cientista pode dizer-nos que há 100 triliões de estrelas no céu e aceitamos sem duvidar.
» Aceitamos como facto absoluto que um átomo tenha neutrões e electrões a girar à volta de um núcleo, mesmo que nunca tenhamos visto nenhum deles.
» Concordamos que Camões escreveu os Lusíadas, e que E, de facto, é igual a MC2.
» Orgulhamos-nos de ser criaturas lógicas que exigem prova antes de acreditar na maioria das coisas. Como é que então, aceitamos todas estas coisas como factos, sem nunca exigir a prova da sua autenticidade?

E porque é que muitos de nós rejeitamos Jesus, arriscando as nossas vidas, mesmo quando apresentado com prova sólida? Que prova, podes perguntar?

» O testemunho de milhares de pessoas que viram os milagres de Jesus!
» Testemunhos de dezenas que testemunharam a Sua morte, depois viram-No vivo após a Sua ressurreição.
» O cumprimento de profecias sobre Jesus. Mesmo depois de ter mostrado tantas evidências sólidas, muitas pessoas iluminadas rejeitam Jesus como "apenas um mito para os crédulos". Na verdade, a divindade de Jesus é apenas a única coisa que as pessoas se recusam a aceitar, mesmo que a evidência seja esmagadora. Diz-me, onde está a lógica nisto? A lógica sai pela janela quando as pessoas falam sobre Jesus.

E tu? Estás disposto a aceitar a verdade de Jesus na fé? Na verdade, é a ÚNICA maneira de aceitá-Lo. Então, vai em frente, toma este salto de fé. Quando o fizeres, a tua vida será transformada para sempre.

I am amazed at what we will and won’t allow ourselves to believe. For example:

» We know that light travels 186,000 miles a second, even though we’ve personally never measured it.
» A scientist can tell us that there 100 trillion stars in the sky, and we accept it without question.
» We accept as absolute fact that an atom has neutrons and electrons spinning around a nucleus, even though we have never seen any of them.
» We agree that Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg Address, and that E does, in fact, equal MC2.
» We pride ourselves in being logical creatures who demand proof before believing most things. How is it, then, that we accept all these things as facts, without ever demanding the proof of their authenticity?

And why is it that so many of us will reject Jesus, risking our lives, even when presented with solid proof? What proof, you may ask?

» The witness of thousands of people who saw the miracles of Jesus!
» Testimonies from dozens who witnessed His death, then saw Him alive after His resurrection.
» The fulfillment of prophecies concerning Jesus. Even after being shown so much solid evidence, many enlightened people reject Jesus as "just some myth for the gullible". In fact, the divinity of Jesus is just about the only thing people refuse to accept, even when evidence is overwhelming. Tell me, where is the logic in that? Logic goes out the window when people talk about Jesus.

What about you? Are you willing to accept the truth of Jesus on faith? In fact, it’s the ONLY way you can accept Him. So, go ahead, take that leap of faith. Once you do, your life will be changed forever.
