Sabes o que tem de bom ser Cristão? A vida vem com um kit de sobrevivência. Em todas as voltas e reviravoltas e soluços da vida, temos uma fonte confiável e acessível que nos pode fazer passar por tudo. É claro que estou a referir-me à força que encontramos em Jesus. O Apóstolo Paulo serve como um excelente exemplo de sobrevivência por tudo o que a vida lhe lançou no caminho. Ele escreveu o verso Bíblico devocional de hoje. O versículo 13 é usado mais numa base regular do que os dois versículos anteriores: Posso todas as coisas em Cristo que me fortalece. (Filipenses 4:13). Gosto do facto de que este versículo está escrito para apoiar directamente o "Posso estar contente em qualquer situação." Frequentemente isolamos este verso e o aplicamos apenas para encorajar-nos a fazer o impossível, do qual sou a favor. No entanto, às vezes precisamos de nos lembrar que Cristo está também aqui para nos ajudar no nosso dia-a-dia.
Paulo diz que pode permanecer contente não importa quais sejam as circunstâncias à volta dele. Não sei o que está a acontecer na tua vida agora, mas pensa nisto. Paulo escreveu estas palavras, enquanto estava trancado na prisão. E mesmo quando foi preso, ele escreveu sobre o regozijar-se e estar cheio de alegria (Filipenses 4:4)! Ouvi um pregador uma vez dizer: "Ou estás numa tempestade, a acabar de sair de uma, ou prestes a entrar numa." Isto pode parecer assustador no início, mas realisticamente todos sabemos que mudanças e dificuldades acontecem. Mas, podemos respirar calmamente e descansar com confiança porque podemos lidar com isso. Jesus dá-nos força. E Ele está connosco antes, depois e durante as partes más das nossas vidas.

You know what’s great about being a Christian? Life comes with a survival kit. In all the twists and turns and hiccups of life, we have a trusty and handy source that can get you through it all. Of course I’m referring to the strength we find in Jesus. The Apostle Paul serves as an excellent example of surviving everything life throws his way. He wrote today’s devotional Bible verse. Verse 13 is often used more on a regular basis by than the previous two verses: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ( Philippians 4:13). I like the fact that this verse is written in direct support of "I can be content in any situation." So often we isolate this verse and we apply it to only encourage us to do the impossible, which I am all for. However, sometimes we need to remember that Christ is also here to help in our day to day.
Paul says he can remain content no matter what the circumstances are around him. I don’t know what is going on in your life right now, but think about it. Paul wrote these words while he was locked away in prison. And even while captured, he wrote about rejoicing and being full of joy (Philippians 4:4)! I heard a preacher once say "You’re either in a storm, just got out of one, or about to enter one." That can sound daunting at first, but realistically we all know change and difficulty happen. But, we can breathe easy and rest confidently because we can handle it. Jesus gives us strength. And He is with us before, after, and during the bad parts in our lives.
