Hebreus 11 é um grande exemplo dos pilares da nossa fé. Está cheio de histórias de homens e mulheres fiéis que foram fiéis à direcção de Deus, muitas vezes nem viveram para ver os frutos das suas obras (Hebreus 11:13). Podemos dizer com segurança que Deus não está a nos chamar para construir uma arca, como fez com Noé (Hebreus 11:7), ou para oferecer o nosso filho como um sacrifício (Hebreus 11:17-19). Podemos ler estes versos e ficar surpreendidos com a fé destas pessoas e talvez até sonharmos de como responderíamos a Deus em situações semelhantes. Mas, Deus nos chamou hoje para ter fé assim como aqueles em Hebreus 11. A sua fé não estava limitada a um instante particular ou evento, mas foi tecida através de tudo o que fizeram. Porque "sem fé é impossível agradar" a Deus.
Tudo o que fazemos na vida deve estar directamente ligado à nossa fé n'Aquele que é Fiel. Tiago até escreveu sobre isto pois faz parte da oração. Ele disse que se não orarmos com a fé de que Deus responderá às nossas orações, então somos instáveis em todos os nossos caminhos (Tiago 1:6-8).
Vai à igreja só porque é o que os Cristãos fazem?
Ou, vai à igreja esperando com fé que Deus irá movimentar-Se de maneira poderosa?
As nossas disciplinas Cristãs podem facilmente tornar-se rotina e já não ser uma parte da nossa fé em Deus como o foi ao princípio. Não deixe que ler a sua Bíblia, orar, ir à igreja ser outra coisa a verificar na nossa lista de coisas para fazer Cristãs. Fá-las com fé, sabendo que um Deus amoroso e poderoso irá mover em e através de si enquanto as faz.

Hebrews 11 is a great example of the pillars of our faith. It is filled with the stories of faithful men and women who were faithful to God’s leading, many times not even living to see their works bear fruit (Hebrews 11:13). We can safely say that God isn’t calling us to build an ark as he did Noah (Hebrews 11:7), or to offer our child as a sacrifice (Hebrews 11:17-19). We can read these verses and be amazed at the faith of these people and maybe even dream of how we would respond to God in similar situations. But, God has called us today to have faith just as those in Hebrews 11. Their faith wasn’t limited to one particular instance or event, but it was woven through everything they did. For "without faith it is impossible to please" God.
Everything we do in life should be directly linked to our faith in the Faithful One. James even wrote of this as it pertained to prayer. He said that if we don’t pray with the faith that God will answer our prayers then we are unstable in all of our ways (James 1:6-8).
Do you go to church just because it is what Christians do?
Or, do you go to church expecting in faith that God will move in a mighty way?
Our Christian disciplines can easily become routine and no longer be a part of our faith in God as they once were. Don’t let reading your Bible, praying, going to church be another thing to check off our list of Christian things to do. Do them with faith, knowing that a loving and powerful God will move in and through you as you do these.
