A palavra frequentemente significa regularmente. Muito. Jesus passou muito tempo sozinho com Deus. Porquê? Jesus precisava de permanecer ligado ao Pai para ser revigorado e recarregado após as pressões do ministério. Saber que o Seu propósito final na terra era ir à cruz pelos nossos pecados, Jesus também precisava de força para continuar a andar na vontade de Deus.
Mesmo que as nossas pressões e stress mais intensos sejam pálidos em comparação com o que Jesus enfrentou na cruz, também precisamos do repouso, da força e do encorajamento de Deus diante das demandas diárias e da ansiedade da vida. Então, como é que passamos tempo com Deus? Por onde começamos?
1. Remove Distracções. Silencia o teu telemóvel, fecha o teu portátil, desliga a TV e pede a Deus o desejo de conhecê-Lo.
2. Sê Vulnerável. Ora e derrama o teu coração a Deus. Cristo ensina que a oração deve consistir em louvar e agradecer a Deus por quem Ele é e pelo que Ele fez. Isto inclui pedir-Lhe que atenda às nossas necessidades e orar pela vontade de Deus na nossa vida e na vida de outras pessoas. Significa pedir perdão a Deus pelos nossos pecados e força para enfrentar todos os dias. É cerca de 100% de vulnerabilidade com Deus.
3. Lê a Palavra de Deus. Deus fala, ensina e encoraja-nos através da Sua Palavra. Se queres conhecer Deus, então lê a Sua Palavra. É o jeito Dele de Se revelar a cada um de nós.
4. Junta-te a Outros. A Bíblia fala sobre a importância da comunhão com outros crentes através do culto corporativo e estudo da Bíblia. É sobre louvar a Deus. É fazer as perguntas difíceis, apoiar os outros e viver a vida juntos que nos ajuda a andar com Deus.
Jesus passou muito tempo com Deus, o Pai, a fim de ser revigorado e revitalizado, mas, em última análise, foi porque Jesus conhecia o amor do Seu Pai e queria estar com Ele. Quanto mais tempo passares com Deus, mais entenderás o poder do amor de Deus que traz alegria, satisfação e propósito à vida. Então, pede a Deus para ajudar-te a priorizar o tempo com Ele hoje ou nesta semana. E apenas fá-lo.

The word often means regularly. A lot. Jesus spent a lot of time alone with God. Why? Jesus needed to stay connected to the Father in order to be refreshed and recharged after the pressures of ministry. Knowing His ultimate purpose on earth was to go to the cross for our sins, Jesus also needed strength to continue walking in God’s will.
Even though our most intense pressures and stress pale in comparison to what Jesus faced at the cross, we too need God’s refreshment, strength and encouragement in the face of life’s daily demands and anxiety. So how do we spend time with God? Where do we start?
1. Remove Distractions. Silence your cell phone, close your laptop, turn off the TV, and ask God for a desire to know Him.
2. Be Vulnerable. Pray and pour out your heart to God. Christ teaches that prayer should consist of praising and thanking God for who He is and what He’s done. It includes asking Him to meet our needs and praying for God’s will in our lives and in the lives of others. It means asking God’s forgiveness for our sins and for the strength to face each day. It’s about 100% vulnerability with God.
3. Read God’s Word. God speaks, teaches and encourages us through His Word. If you want to know God, then read His Word. It’s His way of revealing Himself to each of us.
4. Join Others. The Bible speaks about the importance of community with other believers through corporate worship and Bible study. It’s about praising God. It’s asking the tough questions, supporting others and living life together that helps us walk with God.
Jesus spent a lot of time with God the Father in order to be refreshed and recharged, but ultimately, it was because Jesus knew the love of His Father and He wanted to be with Him. The more time you spend with God, the more you will understand the power of God’s love that brings joy, fulfillment and purpose to life. So ask God to help you prioritize time with Him today or this week. And just do it

Jesus resumiu tudo numa frase: "Ama Deus e ama as pessoas". Por outras palavras, o maior mandamento de acordo com Jesus é todo sobre o amor. Se amamos a Deus em primeiro lugar, então, desse amor, devemos amar os outros. Parece bastante simples, até começarmos a tentar vivê-lo. Quando começamos a olhar para a realidade de como devemos amar Deus e às pessoas versus como isto realmente acontece no dia a dia, provavelmente sentir-nos-emos um pouco culpados e condenados de todas as vezes em que ficamos aquém do esperado.
Felizmente, Jesus sabe que nós não somos capazes de superar o nosso egoísmo natural por conta própria, então Ele enviou-nos um ajudante: O Espírito Santo. Quando uma pessoa vem a conhecer Deus através da pessoa de Jesus Cristo, recebemos o dom do Espírito Santo. Pensa em como um amigo, conselheiro ou até mesmo uma enfermeira apoia, encoraja e caminha contigo durante uma período difícil. O Espírito Santo faz a mesma coisa, ajudando-nos a seguir e a obedecer aos mandamentos de Deus.
O que é que o Espírito Santo faz exactamente? O Espírito Santo começa a transformar-nos de dentro para fora, reflectindo o espírito e o carácter de Cristo. É o Espírito Santo que transforma a nossa perspectiva do "deve" a "querer" quando se trata de obedecer à Palavra de Deus, e isto faz toda a diferença em como vivemos o amor de Deus. Se és um seguidor de Jesus, pede a Deus um novo derramamento do Espírito Santo para viver em Cristo hoje. Se não conheces Jesus, pede ao Espírito Santo que te dê uma necessidade e convicção de confiar em Jesus como o teu Salvador e Senhor.

Jesus summed it all up in one phrase: "Love God and love people". In other words, the greatest commandment according to Jesus is all about love. If we love God first and foremost, then out of that love we should love others. It sounds simple enough, until we start attempting to live it out. When we begin to look at the reality of how we should love God and people versus how it actually plays out day to day, we’ll probably feel a little guilty and convicted of all the times we’ve fallen short.
Thankfully, Jesus knows that we aren’t capable of overcoming our natural selfishness on our own, so He sent us a helper: The Holy Spirit. When a person comes to know God through the person of Jesus Christ, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Think of how a friend, counselor or even a nurse supports, encourages and walks with you through a tough season. The Holy Spirit does the same thing by helping us follow and obey God’s commands.
What does the Holy Spirit do, exactly? The Holy Spirit begins to transform us from the inside out into reflecting the spirit and character of Christ. It’s the Holy Spirit that transforms our perspective from "ought to" to "want to" when it comes to obeying God’s Word, and that makes all the difference in how we live out God’s love. If you’re a follower of Jesus, ask God for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit to live in Christ today. If you don’t know Jesus, may you ask the Holy Spirit to give you a need and conviction to trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

Independentemente do estado da nossa economia, de alguma forma ainda encontramos a necessidade de ter mais "coisas". Na nossa pressa em adquirir riqueza e posses, não deveríamos estar a perguntar: "Quanto é o suficiente?" De forma simples, a Palavra de Deus diz-nos: Quando vês que Deus está a suprir as necessidades básicas da tua vida, fica contente. Sê grato. O apóstolo Paulo diz: Não digo isto como por necessidade, porque já aprendi a contentar-me com o que tenho. Sei estar abatido, e sei também ter abundância; em toda a maneira, e em todas as coisas estou instruído, tanto a ter fartura, como a ter fome; tanto a ter abundância, como a padecer necessidade. (Filipenses 4:11,12)
Por outras palavras, o apóstolo Paulo entendeu. Ele poderia contentar-se com pouco. Ele podia estar contente com muito! Vamos aprender a seguir o exemplo dele. Porque o Cristianismo é, acima de tudo, um relacionamento, quando estamos num relacionamento correto com Deus por meio de Cristo, um dos muitos subprodutos é o contentamento.
Então, enquanto as necessidades básicas da vida estiverem a ser satisfeitas, sê grato. Todas as coisas a mais e acima são apenas bênçãos extras!

Regardless of the state of our economy, somehow we still find the need to have more "things". In our rush to acquire wealth and possessions, shouldn’t we be asking ourselves, "Just how much is enough?" Simply put, God’s Word tells us: When you see that God is meeting the basic necessities of your life, be content. Be thankful. The apostle Paul says, Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. (Philippians 4:11, 12)
In other words, the apostle Paul understood. He could be content with little. He could be content with much! Let’s learn to follow his example. Because Christianity is most of all a relationship, when we are in a right relationship with God through Christ, one of the many by-products is contentment.
So, as long as the basic necessities of life are being met, be thankful. All things over and above are just extra blessings!
