Uma Lição De Adão # A Lesson From Adam

Talvez tivessem sido as palavras adicionadas de Adão a Eva que deu à serpente a sua oportunidade. "Não comereis dele, nem nele tocareis para que não morrais!" Espera, foi realmente isso o que Deus disse a Adão? Isto será um grande NÃO. Quando Deus estabeleceu as regras domésticas para o jardim, Ele disse a Adão que ninguém poderia comer de uma certa árvore ou a morte seria o resultado. Ele não disse nada sobre tocar na fruta.

Parece que Adão, provavelmente com boas intenções ao transmitir a Eva o mandamento de Deus, acrescentou as suas próprias palavras, "ou tocá-la". Faz sentido. Se não podes tocá-la, não podes comê-la. Parece uma coisa tão pequena, não é? No entanto, com estas três palavras adicionadas, Adão deu ao demónio a capacidade de desafiar a afirmação de Eva de que apenas tocar a fruta causaria a morte. (Lembra-te, Deus nunca disse isso.) Sabes, este tipo de coisa é uma das principais razões pelas quais o diabo é tão bem sucedido em mexer connosco. Ele encontra pequenas coisas nos pecados que cometemos e argumenta que certamente Deus não ficará realmente chateado com esse pequeno pecado, ah, o legalismo no seu melhor. Então tiramos os olhos de Deus para discutir com o diabo! Onde está a lógica nisto?

Adicionar às palavras de Deus leva sempre à confusão. Notícia Importante: Deus nunca é o autor de confusão. Procuremos aprender com o erro de Adão e sejamos Cristãos eficazes, partilhando apenas a perfeita Palavra de Deus, como está escrita, sem adicionar as nossas próprias palavras.

Perhaps it was Adam’s added words to Eve that gave the serpent his opening. "You shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die!" Wait, is that really what God said to Adam? That would be a big NO. When God set down the house rules for the garden, He told Adam that no one could eat from a certain tree or death would be the result. He said nothing about touching the fruit.

It appears that Adam, probably with good intentions in telling Eve of God’s command, added his own words, "or touch it". Makes sense. If you can’t touch it, you can’t eat it. It seems like such a little thing, doesn’t it? Yet with those three added words, Adam gave the devil the ability to challenge Eve’s claim that just touching the fruit would cause death. (Now remember, God never said that.) You see, this kind of thing is one of the main reasons why the devil is so successful in messing with us. He finds little loopholes in the sins we commit and argues that surely God wouldn’t really be upset about that little sin, ah, legalism at its finest. So we take our eyes off of God to argue with the devil! Where is the logic in that?

Adding to the words of God always leads to confusion. News flash: God is never the author of confusion. Let’s try to learn from Adam’s mistake and be effective Christians by sharing only the perfect Word of God as it is written, adding no words of our own.
