Uma das maiores ferramentas que o Diabo usa quando se trata de Cristãos a partilhar o Evangelho é a distracção. O que é o Evangelho? Que Cristo morreu pelos nossos pecados e ressuscitou dos mortos. É a melhor notícia que alguém já ouviu, pois é a chave para a salvação do pecado e da morte e o começo de um relacionamento eterno com Deus. O Diabo fará tudo para impedir que esta mensagem seja ouvida.
Pensa nisto: Qualquer pessoa que já tenha partilhado o Evangelho com um não crente pode atestar como o Diabo usará qualquer tipo de distracção para acompanhar essa conversa. É estranho quantas vezes, bem no meio da conversa, um telefone toca ou alguém entra na sala ou um bebé começa a chorar, distracção. Até momentos pessoais de oração e estudo da Bíblia não são imunes a esses ataques. Distracções como olhar para os nossos telefones, e-mails ou redes sociais são a melhor ferramenta que o inimigo usa para impedir-nos de partilhar o Evangelho e andar com Deus.
Paulo e Silas experimentaram isso no início do seu ministério. Enquanto viajavam e pregavam em Filipos, uma região da Macedónia na Grécia, uma jovem cartomante começou a segui-los e a gritar: "Estes homens são servos do Deus Altíssimo!" Agora, podes pensar que Paulo e Silas ficariam felizes com esta publicidade gratuita, mas depois de algum tempo ficaram frustrados. Em vez de atrair as pessoas para ouvir, esta jovem tornou-se uma distracção que impedia as pessoas de ouvir o Evangelho. Então, o que é que eles fizeram? Paulo sabia que adivinhação e feitiçaria provêm de práticas ocultas e, portanto, ordenou que o espírito que a possuía se retirasse em nome de Jesus Cristo, e foi o que aconteceu. Ela foi imediatamente curada.
Distracções estão por toda parte, especialmente quando nos esforçamos para caminhar ou falar sobre Deus. Estás a lutar com distracções quando se trata de passar tempo com Deus ou partilhar a tua fé? Pede a Deus para ajudar-te a manter o foco na vontade Dele ao combater as distracções na tua vida.

One of the greatest tools the devil uses when it comes to Christians sharing the Gospel is distraction. What is the Gospel? That Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead. It’s the greatest news anyone will ever hear as it’s the key to salvation from sin and death and the beginning of an eternal relationship with God. The devil will do just about anything to keep that message from being heard.
Think about it: Anyone who’s ever shared the Gospel with a non-believer can attest to how the Devil will use any kind of distraction to get that conversation side tracked. It’s uncanny how often right in the middle of the conversation a phone will ring or someone will walk into the room or a baby will start crying, distraction. Even personal times of prayer and Bible study aren’t immune to these attacks. Distractions like checking our phones, emails, or social media are the greatest tool the enemy uses to keep us from sharing the Gospel and walking with God.
Paul and Silas experienced this early on in their ministry. While traveling and preaching in Philippi, the Macedonia region of Greece, a young fortune teller began to follow them around and cry out, “These men are servants of the most High God!” Now, you might think Paul and Silas would be happy with this free publicity, but after a while they became frustrated. Rather than drawing people to listen, this girl became a distraction that kept the people from hearing the Gospel. So, what did they do? Paul knew that divination and sorcery come from occult practices and so he commanded the spirit possessing her to leave in the name of Jesus Christ, and it did. Immediately she was healed.
Distractions are everywhere, especially when we strive to walk with or talk about God. Are you struggling with distractions when it comes to spending time with God or sharing your faith? Ask God to help you stay focused on His will as you battle the distractions in your life.
