“Quanto ao mais, irmãos, tudo o que é verdadeiro, tudo o que é honesto, tudo o que é justo, tudo o que é puro, tudo o que é amável, tudo o que é de boa fama, se há alguma virtude, e se há algum louvor, nisso pensai.” Filipenses 4:8

Formulamos cerca de 50.000 pensamentos ao dia que podem levar-nos para cima ou para baixo. Nenhum pensamento é neutro. Aquilo em que sempre pensamos vai inevitavelmente terminar se cristalizando em palavras que falamos e, então, em coisas que fazemos. Por mais que nos esforcemos, não podemos viver diferentemente do que pensamos. Tudo aquilo em que dermos mais atenção ganha maior importância na nossa vivência. Por isso, o nosso potencial para a alegria é limitado apenas pelo nosso nível de empenho quanto a ter pensamentos alegres na maior parte do tempo. Num sentido bastante real, somos o que pensamos ser. Ser cheio de alegria não significa que a nossa vida é perfeita. Nem sequer significa que a nossa vida é boa. Mas, a alegria é um sinal exterior da fé interior nas promessas de Deus. Entende que tudo o que vês, lês ou ouves aproxima-te ou afasta-te de Deus. Em que é que estás a pensar?

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

We formulate about 50.000 thoughts a day that can take us up or down. No thought is neutral. What we always think will inevitably ends up crystallizing in words we speak and, then, in the things we do. As much as we strive, we can not live any differently from what we think. Everything that we give more attention gains greater importance in our experience. Therefore, our potential for joy is limited only by our level of commitment of having happy thoughts most of the time. In a very real sense, we are what we think. Being full of joy does not mean that our life is perfect. Nor does it mean that our life is good. But joy is an outward sign of our inner faith in God's promises. Understand that everything you see, read or hear approaches you or turns you away from God. What are you thinking about?
